About Us

For 42 years, Quilter’s Square has been providing the Lexington, KY, area with an extensive selection of fabric, notions, sewing machines, embroidery supplies, and more, to meet a wide variety of creative needs. Originally established in 1982, Quilter’s Square became a family owned and operated business when it was purchased by Allen and Mary Charles, who eventually sold the store to their daughter, Chana, and granddaughter, Kayla.

Chana is the machine mechanic and enjoys teaching classes, as well as ogling the beautiful fabrics, experimenting with new patterns and techniques, and designing quilts. Kayla practically grew up at Quilter's Square, making her first rag quilt at the age of eight. Like her mother, Kayla is also a fabric fanatic! She’s the store’s social media specialist and does machine quilting, edge to edge and custom.
